For Better or Worse

Dear Brides

Are you watching this series? It’s been wonderful. As is always the case with Lyn Johnson, she focuses on the human. You don’t have to always agree with her, but you have to laugh!

One of the things I’ve loved about this run is the way that they’re making a community affair. Everyone’s a lot happier because everyone’s participating. Just because it came from a comic strip doesn’t mean it’s bad advice!

Ask the people who love you to play in your wedding lalapaloosa! Why should you be the only one having a good time?

Streaming Video: Cyber Guests

Dear Brides,

I can’t endorse entirely since I haven’t used it or seen it used. But if I had known they existed, I would have used them! What a great idea this is: www.liveweddingbroadcast.tv

So many of us have people from far away who can’t make it to our wedding and who would love to watch. This is a way for them to be present. It doesn’t solve the interaction thing which is so important in my weddings, but it does allow them to be there.

I solved the interaction piece with a cell phone. But this would have been a much better way for my new daughter to be at our wedding. darn. missed it. maybe we should do it again!

Go ahead and experiment. as long as things don’t get in the way of the wedding ceremony, see how you can bring folks at a distance closer. You’d need a phone card in your computer to make this work at most wedding venues, but it might be worth it!

More great stuff ahead!

MAB: I’ve Been Ignoring You!

Hello, my friends!

Life on the lead up to the wedding ceremony is hectic and stressful. Stop for a quick blessing counting. However annoying it is that we aren’t perfectly svelte (or if we are by some odd chance or huge amount of sweating and lack of eating soothing chocolate pie, our perfectly svelte is perfectly different from just a few years ago — huh, how did they get down there?) or that the patissier refuses to make your mocha peanut butter carrot cake, Continue reading

life is grand and so are all of you!
